 Programming Overview

Norstar telephone systems are programmed through a series of feature codes accessed from any Norstar digital telephone. Programming is divided into two levels:

Level Description
System Programming Accessed via Feature * * SYS PWD (default: 266344). Configures lines, sets, dialing plans, and system-wide features. Requires the installer or system coordinator password.
Station Programming Accessed by each user from their own telephone. Configures personal features such as call forwarding, autodial, and display settings.


 Common Feature Access Codes
 Code Feature Description
 Feature 70 Do Not Disturb Activates / deactivates DND on your set.
 Feature 74 Call Forward All Forwards all calls to a specified extension or external number.
 Feature 75 Call Forward Busy Forwards calls when your line is busy.
 Feature 78 Call Forward No Answer Forwards calls after a specified number of rings.
 Feature 50 Conference Establishes a 3-party conference call.
 Feature 60 Paging Makes an internal page announcement to all sets.
 Feature 80 Privacy Prevents others from joining your line.
 Feature 84 Last Number Redial Redials the last external number dialed.
 Feature 85 Saved Number Redial Saves the current number for later redialing.
 Feature 87 Background Music Turns background music on/off through your telephone speaker.
 Feature 9* Voicemail Access Accesses the Norstar Flash or CallPilot voicemail system.
 Feature ** System Programming Enters system programming mode (password required).


 Basic Call Handling Procedures

Transfer a Call 1. Press Transfer button (or Feature 70)
2. Dial the extension number
3. Announce the call (optional)
4. Hang up to complete the transfer
Place a Call on Hold Press the Hold button. The line button flashes to indicate a call on hold. Press the flashing line button to retrieve.
3-Party Conference 1. While on a call, press Feature 50
2. Dial the third party
3. Press Feature 50 again to join all parties
Program an Autodial 1. Press Feature * 1
2. Press the button you want to program
3. Dial the number to store
4. Press OK or # to save
